This is a 2 minute excerpt of Lilley's dialogue this morning:

"Awww. Cutie Pie Baby has a booboo. Thank you kissing it. All better. I so excited! Time to go preschool and see friends! Hey friends. C'mon Mom. (What happened to mama or mommy?) Uh oh. Where Goofy sticker go? Look at Goofy sticker baby. It right there. That so cute. Lilley drop it. Goodness gracious sakes! Lilley Pie read story bout animals. That sweet. Hey Moo Moo. Hey Neigh Neigh. Aww. Muah. I love you. Time to go night night. Snug as bug in rug. Don't let bed bugs bite. Lilley go night night just like neigh neigh. Mommy wearing Daddy's jeans. Silly Mommy (Obviously need to invest in different pants!). Aww. Baby Tipp fussin'. Please Mommy, Lilley want red M&M. One. Alright. Alright Mommy."

So Lilley has had a rough time with the newest change at our house. It has been 5 weeks and the past few days, we have loved having Lilley back. She reacted to Tripp's appearance as a typical 22 month old: trying to find control in any area possible. Therefore, Michael and I were getting used to power struggles over diapering, eating...well, everything. Thankfully, Lilley has returned to eating well and using the potty again! We are also hearing fewer defiant outbursts of "NO!" Yesterday morning, Lilley was doing a great job and I said as much. Her response was, "Mommy, Lilley all better now." It brought tears to my eyes. What a transitional time in our lives: to have such joy in a new child and see the effect it has had on her.

Lilley asked her Daddy to take a picture of her drinking juice from a big girl cup. She is saying, "Hmmm...lummy."


Lilley is doing the "hot dog dance" at the Christmas Parade.

Reflux

Has anyone out there attempted a dairy-free diet in order to alleviate reflux in your child? Poor Tripp cries in his sleep due to the pain, but I want to try to fix it before putting him on meds. Lilley Pie had reflux and spit up quite a bit, but it didn't seem to bother like like it does him. Thanks for words of wisdom!!!!

Two Under Two

Wow! The past 2 weeks have been quite an adjustment. Thankfully, Mom was here the first week to help. Lilley is slowly getting used to life with a brother. She is VERY sweet with him and likes being a big helper. She is acting out in other ways such as not eating and being very clingy- "Lilley want Lilley Mommy" is a constant phrase. In the midst of changing size 1 and 5 diapers, I have appreciated the meals and visits so much! Needless to say, Tripp is such a sweet baby, just like big sister Lilley Pie!
